If going to the Pittock Mansion at Christmas time isn’t a holiday tradition — it should be! This year, the Pittock Mansion is themed with Christmas Carols and each room is decorated and named accordingly.

About Pittock Mansion
The Pittock Mansion was built in the early part of the 1900′s, between 1909 and 1914 and is located in Portland’s West Hills. It is a French Renaissance style Chateau and the architecture is amazing.
The original owners were Henry and Georgiana Pittock, who settled in during the time Portland was changing from a lumber town in to a bustling metropolitan urban hub.
The Pittock Mansion was occupied until 1958 and it was nearly destroyed when developers were eyeing the area for development. A group of forward seeing community activists saves the Pittock Mansion and it has become one of Portland’s public museums, opening in 1965.
The home sits on 46 acres, which is now a public park under their 501(c)(3) non-profit Pittock Mansion Society.
Celebrating Christmas Carols 2012 at Pittock Mansion
Location: Pittock Mansion is located two miles west of downtown off West Burnside at 3229 N.W. Pittock Drive.
Hours: Pittock Mansion is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. (Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and January 2 – 31.)
Admission: Free for members, $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors (65+), $6.50 for youth (ages 6 – 18), and free for children ages 5 and younger.
Parking: Limited 0n site — free parking is available at Pittock Acres Park.

Thanks to dozens of talented volunteer designers who have worked as hard as Santa’s elves, Pittock Mansion’s 23 rooms, hallways, and grand staircase are now bedecked with angels, reindeer, silver bells, and other music-themed adornments from favorite holiday songs for this year’s exhibit, Celebrating Christmas Carols. Hundreds of visitors of all ages are welcomed each day to enjoy the wonderland of creative displays through January 1.

- Dazzling decorations in each room with period pieces commemorating the days of yore
- Community musicians play regularly in the Music Room
- Shoppers will find unique holiday decorations, jewelry, books, toys, and more in the Mansion’s Museum Store
- Pittock Mansion’s 23 rooms, hallways, and grand staircase are now bedecked with angels, reindeer, silver bells, and other music-themed adornments from favorite holiday songs for this year’s exhibit
- Best of Catering PDX will offer light snacks and beverages for purchase from their outside concession stand on the Mansion grounds December 19 – January 1.
