Sherwood ~~ Sherwood is city in Washington County, Oregon. Located in a residential community in the Tualatin Valley southwest of Portland. According to the 2010 census, the population was 18,205 residents. Indirectly named for the Sherwood Forest in England, it was first incorporated in 1893 as a town. Sherwood has four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school, in the Sherwood School District. The area has built up in the past decade and has maintained a “small town” feel, yet with big town shopping, restaurants. Since it is very rural, there are many properties on acreage. The 1,800+ acre Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge is located in Sherwood.
